Starting July 3, the Jinan Baiquan Spring Ecological Protection Project will be open to the public for free daily from 7 am to 9 pm.

Located in the Jinan East Station area, the project has revitalized the nearly extinct millennium-old Baiquan Spring group, creating a new space for people to experience Jinan's history and culture.

As one of 72 famous springs in Jinan and the only large spring group in the eastern part of the city, Baiquan Spring holds profound historical significance. However, this culturally rich area had fallen silent due to urban expansion.

To restore its charm, Jinan Rail Transit Group conducted extensive research, locating 10 historical springs, including Baiquan Spring, Huiquan Spring, and Piaoquan Spring, and initiated a systematic restoration.

Construction of the Baiquan Spring Ecological Protection Project began in September 2024. Using fir piles to outline spring pool contours and building ecological revetments with scenic stones, the project carefully dredged the water system between spring groups.

By clearing debris, backfilling with planting soil, and creating shallow ponds and wetlands, the geological wonder of Baiquan Spring has been successfully restored. All original trees in the park have also been preserved.
