Jinan, capital city of East China's Shandong province, is set to host the opening leg of the 2025 Chinese Figure Skating Inter Club League from July 9 to 13 at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center.

Co-organized by the China Figure Skating Association and the Jinan Sports Bureau, the event will feature top national athletes and a special performance by Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova, promising a captivating display of figure skating artistry.

As one of China's most influential skating events, this year's competition adopts a dual format, combining elite-level contests — including singles, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating — with public-oriented programs such as theatrical skating. This inclusive approach encourages both professional excellence and broad participation.

The Jinan leg has drawn 655 skaters from 68 clubs nationwide and marks the largest opening event in the league's history. Local talent will join national champions, showing the city's growing presence in winter sports.

In tandem with the competition, Jinan will host a carnival near the venue, offering interactive experiences, cultural exhibits, and food stalls. These efforts aim to create a dynamic "sports + consumption" environment, stimulating interest in winter sports and enhancing urban vitality.

With upgraded facilities built to international standards, the Jinan Olympic Sports Center is fully prepared to welcome athletes and audiences from across the country. The event not only highlights Jinan's commitment to promoting winter sports, but also positions the city as a key hub for sports-driven tourism and economic development.
