Jinan opens all-cargo route to Bangkok
A Boeing 737-800 freighter of Shandong Airlines, carrying 16 metric tons of e-commerce parcels and electronic components, departed from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, bound for Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, on Aug 26.
The flight marks the launch of Shandong Airlines' freighter operations and Jinan's first regular all-cargo route to Southeast Asia.
The route runs twice a week. Exports include e-commerce parcels, electronic components and display modules, while inbound flights bring durian, seafood, and other fresh produce from Southeast Asia.
Through multi-stop operations, Shandong Airlines is building a cargo network covering Bangkok, Osaka, Nanjing, and Dhaka, supporting stable industrial and supply chains.
The new route provides a fast and reliable logistics channel between Shandong province and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, boosting cross-border e-commerce, pharmaceutical, and agricultural trade.
Shandong Airlines currently operates four all-cargo aircraft serving both domestic and international routes. In the future, the airline will optimize its cargo network and enhance service quality, contributing to Shandong's efforts to foster new growth drivers for opening-up and deepen integration into global supply chains.
