Licheng Sports Center in Licheng district, Jinan, has passed the field test of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Sept 22, after a major renovation following 10 years of operation.

Covering 28,000 square meters, the venue now features a stadium, a fitness hall, an outdoor track and field, and a recreational sports facility.

The pitch has been renovated to meet the highest FIFA standards, successfully passing all functional tests, including shock absorption, vertical deformation, surface evenness, ultraviolet (UV) resistance, and anti-aging tests. Full-color LED screens, professional stadium lighting, and directional speakers have been installed to enhance the spectator experience. Meanwhile, the grandstand has also been renovated, featuring vibrant wall paintings and a carefully designed surface color.

In addition to its upgraded physical facilities, the center is now equipped with advanced support services, including match tracking and replay systems, live event streaming, and security measures.

The upgraded Licheng Sports Center is expected to host the 2025 Shandong Qilu Football Super League as well as other competitions and concerts, positioning it as a premier venue for both athletes and audiences.
