The north concourse of Jinan Railway Station started operation on Sept 26, marking a major upgrade to the city's regional transportation hub. The new concourse is designed to relieve pressure on the south square and enhance the overall passenger experience.

Covering over 40,000 square meters, the north concourse consists of three levels, including one underground. The first floor and lower level house the ticket area, waiting area, and service center, while the second floor features a corridor connecting the north concourse to the south concourse, allowing smooth passage between the two sides.

Platform 8 and Track 11 went into operation at the same time as the north concourse. Track 11 will handle 13 trains, helping divert passengers and improve traffic flow.

Upon arrival, passengers can exit through the underground corridor on basement level 1, which connects both the north and south sides of the station. This corridor also provides seamless access to buses, taxis, and Metro Line 2, and is equipped with moving walkways to ensure convenient and efficient transfers. Bus services at the north square have been optimized, with six lines available for passengers.
