The 2025 Shandong Qilu Football Super League (Jinan Division) opened on Sept 27 at Jinan's Licheng Sports Center, with the home team Jinan defeating the Weihai team 3-1, marking a victorious start for the Jinan Division in this year's tournament.

The members of the Jinan team come from Jinan Quansheng United Football Club. They trained extensively and previously defeated Yantai's team on September 20.

To host the event, Jinan upgraded the sports center, with a pitch built to the highest FIFA standards. Full-color LED screens, professional stadium lighting, and directional speakers, along with advanced support systems—including match tracking and replay systems, as well as live event streaming—have been installed to improve the spectators' experience.

Tickets sold out immediately, and the event quickly became a trending topic on social media, highlighting its popularity.

The event represents not only a competition, but a carnival that fueled public enthusiasm for sports. Themed markets provide a one-stop, immersive experience for visitors, where they can savor signature delicacies and try their hand at intangible cultural heritage crafts. The event has injected new energy into the city and driven local economic activity.

Since 2015, Shandong Qilu Football Super League has provided a platform for amateur football teams to display their potential.

Running from September to November, this year's event features 56 matches across 11 rounds, contested by 18 teams. The group stage is divided into four zones and follows a home-and-away format.
