To celebrate the Year of the Horse, Jinan Museum has a new exhibition highlighting the cultural significance of horses, running through late June.

The exhibition features 100 selected artifacts, including pottery, bronzeware, jade pieces, porcelain, calligraphy, and paintings, offering a comprehensive view of the horse's role in Chinese history and culture.

Organized into five thematic sections, the exhibition explores the horse's origins, military functions, and presence in art and daily life. Key exhibits include a painted pottery chariot from the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 24), a tangsancai (three-colored glazed ceramics) figurine of a mounted rider, and a work by renowned artist Xu Beihong (1895–1953).

The museum has also introduced installations that allow visitors to step into classic paintings, walk along "blessing paths" featuring horse-themed idioms, and explore suspended artworks that create a multi-layered visual experience.

The exhibition is complemented by a range of cultural and creative products, such as herbal sachets and designer pendants, which combine traditional aesthetics with contemporary design.
