The 7th China–CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting and 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week began on May 25 in Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

Shandong has been the Chinese chair province of the China–CEEC Association of Provincial Governors since 2022, focusing on ties between China and the Central and Eastern European countries. The province has established 55 sister-city partnerships with 12 countries in the region.

In the coming days, more achievements in trade, investment, culture, and people-to-people exchanges are anticipated, further strengthening Shandong's connection with the region.
