Jinan tourism promotion boosts ties with Thailand
A delegation from Jinan, featuring key cultural tourism enterprises, recently participated in a "China Tourism Day" event at the China Cultural Center in Bangkok to strengthen tourism between China and Thailand.
Hosted by the China National Tourist Office in Bangkok, the gathering included more than 100 representatives from tourism agencies and media organizations in both countries. China's ambassador to Thailand, Zhang Jianwei, was also present.
Jinan's representatives highlighted the city's notable tourism resources during the promotion, emphasizing its famous springs, cultural heritage, Shandong cuisine, and lively urban atmosphere. They showed spring-themed travel routes that combine landmarks, historic streets, museums, and local culinary experiences. The presentation gained significant interest from Thai tourism professionals and media contacts.
To further expand Jinan's visibility in Thailand, promotional campaigns will feature attractions like Baotu Spring, Mingshui Ancient Town, and the city's unique spring-water banquet. These will be launched across major offline channels in Bangkok over the next three months, including skytrain stations and convenience stores.
This overseas promotion aligns with Jinan's growing inbound tourism, propelled by China's visa-free policies and regional travel facilitation measures. Recent statistics show that local border checkpoints processed over 375,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips this year, up 43.9 percent year-on-year. Passenger traffic involving Thai travelers surged by nearly 200 percent during the same period than last year.
