Jinan has launched a holiday program with more than 300 activities for the upcoming May Day holiday, aiming to boost tourism and consumption across the city.

The program focuses on combining Jinan's natural spring resources with modern tourism, with efforts to extend visitor stays and enhance vitality.

Various themed activities have been introduced at major attractions. Places like Baotu Spring and Mingshui Ancient Town have added night tours and interactive experiences. At Baotu Spring, light installations recreate the Song Dynasty (960–1279) atmosphere. At Mingshui Ancient Town, performers in hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) engage visitors with poetry-themed activities.

Theme parks, including Fantawild Oriental Heritage, are hosting folk performances like the yangko dance, while rural destinations like Lunan village are offering activities like camping and fruit picking. Museums and theaters city-wide are presenting a range of exhibitions and classical performances, adding to the holiday's cultural experiences.

Beyond the city, mountains and natural landscapes provide additional experiences. Visitors can take part in the traditional temple fair at Qianfo Mountain or join workshops on intangible cultural heritage at Jiuru Mountain, combining nature exploration with cultural engagement.

For families, the city has organized a range of child-friendly activities, from circus-themed events and animal science programs to immersive shows, offering a balanced mix of education and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
