Jinan's short-track speed skating talent, Zhang Xinzhe, played a key role in securing China's first gold medal at the ISU Short Track Junior World Championships in Salt Lake City, the United States, from Jan 29 to Feb 2.

Competing in the Men's 3,000-meter relay, the 19-year-old and his teammates delivered a dominant performance to win the championship. This victory adds to Zhang's growing list of achievements, following his gold medal at the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympics.

As a member of Jinan's inaugural short-track speed skating team, Zhang's rise from provincial champion to world-class athlete highlights both his dedication and Jinan's commitment to developing winter sports.
