The Qilu No 1 train with a focus on cultural relics debuted on Feb 14, turning the railway between Shandong and Hebei provinces into a moving museum.

As a significant stop on the route, Jinan has incorporated its rich historical heritage into the journey. Passengers can explore themed displays that include a Western Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 24) gilded bronze, a piece of painted pottery, and a finely crafted jade artifact.

The experience goes beyond static exhibitions. Creative cultural products inspired by these relics – including magnets modeled after the painted pottery dove, a symbol of longevity, and bottle openers based on a Shang Dynasty (c.16th century–11th century BC) bronze vessel – offer a modern take on ancient craftsmanship.

The journey showcases Jinan's intangible cultural heritage with live demonstrations of shadow puppetry and dough sculpting, alongside a selection of authentic local delicacies.

Featuring seven themed carriages dedicated to bronzes, ceramics, ancient architecture, and others, the train is both a cultural display and an interactive classroom. In a dedicated interactive carriage, travelers can take part in hands-on activities such as artifact reconstruction and large-scale puzzle challenges, blending heritage education with entertainment.
