The first "City of Springs" International Humanoid Robot Autonomous Football Competition will be held in Jinan from May 22 to 24, bringing together leading robotics teams from around the world for a showcase of cutting-edge artificial intelligence and humanoid technologies.

More than 30 teams and 150 participants from six countries are expected to compete. International teams, including research groups from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Japan, will account for more than half of all participants, making the tournament an important platform for global technical exchange and industrial cooperation in the humanoid robotics sector.

The competition will adopt a 2 v 2 mixed-team format, divided into medium-sized robots under one meter tall and large-sized robots over one meter tall. Operating entirely by onboard systems, the robots will independently perform path planning, tactical decision-making, and team coordination without human intervention. The format is designed to test key AI capabilities such as machine vision, motion control, and multi-agent collaboration.

Alongside the matches, the event will feature public activities including interactive experience zones, humanoid robot exhibitions, and educational workshops. Visitors will also be able to participate in hands-on AI programming activities and youth-oriented science education programs.

By combining competition, exhibition, and public engagement, the event aims to showcase the latest advances in humanoid robotics while further strengthening Jinan's growing AI and technology ecosystem.
