Jinan-made heavy-duty laser cutter sets global milestone
In a major breakthrough for China's high-end manufacturing sector, Jinan-based Ld Laser unveiled the world's first 20 kilowatts four-chuck heavy-duty laser pipe-cutting machine, the T8-12083, on April 9.
Ld Laser has become a leading exporter of laser processing equipment. Its products have currently been exported to 180 countries and regions.
The launch marks a significant step forward in closing a long-standing technological gap in heavy-duty pipe processing equipment. For years, the development of core technologies for large-diameter laser cutting was dominated by overseas manufacturers, leaving Chinese industries reliant on costly imports with long delivery cycles.
Developed through five years of independent R&D, the machine integrates seven proprietary core technologies and supports a wide processing range, handling pipe diameters from 10 millimeters to 830 mm and lengths of up to 12 meters.
A key highlight is its zero-tail cutting technology, which significantly improves raw material utilization by minimizing scrap during processing.
