The Hengyuan Zhiqi Shandong Embodied AI industrial base in Tianqiao district of Jinan is showcasing how next-generation robots are moving beyond demonstrations and into real-world applications, with robots performing tasks ranging from industrial logistics to household chores and commercial services.

At the base, visitors can watch humanoid robots transport materials, conduct autonomous inspections, fold clothes, arrange shoes, and prepare coffee, showcasing a wide range of real-world applications.

The base officially opened on April 28 as a joint project by AGIBOT, a global leader in embodied AI and robotics, Henggong Precision, and Jinan Tianqiao Industry Development Group. Backed by an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($176.7 million), the nearly 100,000-square-meter complex is expected to serve as AGIBOT's main production and innovation hub in northern China.

The project's first phase has completed four buildings, with Building 4 already in operation. In addition to an exhibition hall featuring robot demonstrations and interactive displays, the building houses a data collection center where operators use VR headsets to train robots in lifelike environments such as kitchens, living rooms, and supermarkets.

Future development will add facilities for R&D, manufacturing, incubation, talent cultivation, services, and product exhibition, helping accelerate the deployment of embodied AI across manufacturing, security inspection and commercial services.
