The Qilu intelligent manufacturing embodied artificial intelligence (AI) robot training center has opened in Jinan Innovation Zone, supporting robot training and testing, as well as the commercialization of embodied AI technologies.

With 4,400 square meters of indoor training space and 30,000-square-meter outdoor training area, it features real-world use cases drawn from Shandong's manufacturing, marine economy, and smart service sectors, including precision assembly, logistics sorting, commercial services, elderly care, and marine-related operations.

"Advanced algorithms may perform well in laboratories, but they often struggle when introduced into real-world settings," said Ren Meiqi, head of the center. The shortage of high-quality real-world data and limited access to practical testing environments remain major challenges for the development of embodied AI.

To address these challenges, the center provides enterprises with access to data resources, use case validation, and evaluation services without requiring companies to build costly testing facilities themselves. It also supports virtual-real integrated training and can extend testing to actual production lines, enabling continuous model improvement through real-world feedback.

By connecting enterprises with universities, research institutes, and industry partners, the center aims to accelerate the commercialization of embodied AI solutions and support wider adoption of embodied AI solutions across industries.
