Enrolling at Institutions of Higher learning
Applicants should submit the relevant materials to the universities applied. After checking the materials of the applicants and confirming their administration，tration by the relevant faculties，the universities will release the Admission Letter and the Application Form for Visas of Foreign Students Study in China (JW202) to them. Holding originals of personal passport，Admission Letter， Application Form for Visas of Foreign Students Study in China , and Physical Examination Form for Foreigners，the enrolled students can apply X visa or F visa from the Chinese embassies，and enter China with the above documents.
Having registered and paid the tuition fees，the foreign students must apply the Residence in the Division of Entry-Exit Administration of the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Public Security 30 days within arrival with their passports， Admission Letter，Application Form for Visas of Foreign Students Study in China，and Physical Examination Form for Foreigners，and "two 2-inch standard photos .

1. University of Jinan
In recent years, University of Jinan has been actively developing its international students education. So far it has enrolled more than one hundred international students from the United States, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Ghana, Pakistan, Spain, Australia and other countries for further education and exchange study.
As the first undergraduate foreign students, six students from Indonesia graduated from our university on June 2007. On October 2004, International Institute of Education was founded to promote the education of foreign students which is dedicated to students’ enrollment, administration and management as well as Chinese teaching and cultural promotion. Based on the Chinese language levels of the foreign students, International Institute of Education operates all types of long and short term Chinese classes and implements seminars with no more than 6 students per class. It provides students with various training programs, including fundamental Chinese, oral Chinese, reading, listening, writing, audiovisual courses given by experienced foreign language teachers. Meanwhile, the school operates year-round learning and experiencing classes of Chinese cultures, such as calligraphy, tai chi, cooking, folk musical instruments, introduction to China, Chinese history and Confucianism lectures.
To enhance the logistics service infrastructure and better accommodate the foreign students, the school transformed the department of foreign experts into students’ apartment in 2007. New students apartments are equipped with full and perfect living facilities, which has greatly improved accommodation conditions and is well appraised by foreign students. Under the guidance of the relevant national policies regarding foreign education, University of Jinan will adhere to the direction of international education, perfect management and insure quality. It will also actively and steadily develop international students education to cultivate talented persons for all countries and develop friendship, cooperation and exchanges with people from other countries.
2．School of International Exchange,Shandong Normal University
Founded on October 29, 1950, Shandong Normal University (SDNU, hereafter) is a key comprehensive university in Shandong Province as one of the earliest universities established after the foundation of the People’s Republic of China.
SDNU presently covers an area of about 600 plus acres with two campuses, namely, the Main Campus and the West Campus. At present, the total number of faculty and staff is 2,602, among whom are 1,809 full-time teachers, including 339 professors and researchers, and 544 associate professors and associate researchers. SDNU now has an enrollment of 29, 100 full-time students, 3,000 out of which are pursuing either doctor or master degrees.
Currently, SDNU has 23 full-time schools/colleges offering courses in 9 main academic disciplines, i.e. philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, and management. There are 65 undergraduate specialties, 126 master degree programs, 31 doctoral degree programs, and 7 post-doctoral research stations.
The university library is among the largest libraries in Shandong Province, well equipped with modern large-scale facilities, with a collection of 3.3 million volumes, 9600 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals, 1.12 million volumes of E-books and 135 Chinese and foreign databases. In addition, SDNU sets up a key research base for humanities and social studies at provincial institutions of higher education officially approved by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, i.e. Center for Studies of Qilu Culture. Moreover, there are 18 provincial research and training institutes affiliated to SDNU, such as Sustainable Development Research Center of Shandong Province, Shandong Provincial Teachers’ Training Center, Shandong Provincial Foreign Languages Training Center, etc. Besides, SDNU publishes six worldwide academic periodicals. Among them is China Population, Resources & Environment, inscribed by China’s former Leader Deng Xiaoping, which is the only academic journal focusing on sustainable development in China.
SDNU attaches great importance to international academic exchange and cooperation. It has established inter-school exchange links with 51 institutions of higher education in 13 countries. It is one of the first group of universities approved by the Ministry of Education of China to enroll international students including those who enjoy Chinese government’s scholarships. It is also designated by the Shandong Provincial Government the Teaching Base for Chinese Language and Culture. Currently, every year there are about 350 international students coming to SDNU to take part in the short-term and long-term training programs. Since 1983, SDNU has educated 5,000 odd short-term and long-term international students from over 40 countries and has become a window for Shandong Province opening to the world.
The University is situated in Ji'nan, capital city of Shandong Province. Shandong Province is Confucius’ hometown, which is well recognized as the origin of the development of Chinese education and the birthplace of Chinese culture as well as the place to transmit Chinese culture. Ji'nan is also known as the “City of Springs”. As a beautiful tourism city, it is on the list of the first batch of the Famous Cities of Chinese History and Culture. The Main Campus of SDNU is located in the downtown area of the city near Qianfo Hill with mature peripheral environment, rich campus culture and strong academic atmosphere, which turns out to be an ideal place for the international students to study Chinese.
3. College of International Education, Shandong University
The College of International Education was established in 1994. It consists of the Department of Chinese Language Teaching, the Department of Education, the Department of Preparatory Study for International Students, and the Language and Culture Promotion and Research Center. It is mainly engaged in international students' education, training professors for teaching Chinese abroad, the development of the Confucius Institute, and the development of the Chinese National Base for Chinese Language Promotion.
The College is responsible for the admission, teaching, management and services for international students. It boasts top-quality faculty and management personnel, and a wide range of teaching and living facilities. Since the 1980s, more than 10000 international students from over 110 countries have studied at SDU.
To meet the demand for Chinese language teachers for international students, the College has established a comprehensive personnel training system, offering Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degree programs in education. Its goal is to produce qualified teachers to teach Chinese to people of different cultures. The College is also responsible for the development of overseas Confucius Institutes. So far, it has set up 8 Confucius Institutes and classrooms in South Korea, Mongolia, Singapore, Australia, France, the Netherlands and Thailand. The Base for Traditional Chinese Culture Research and Experience is a national base and plays an important role in teaching Chinese to international students. It undertakes language and cultural research and dissemination, which includes cultural experience and the development of cultural products.
4. Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine （SDUTCM）was founded in 1958, listed as one of the key state construction TCM higher-learning institutes in 1978, and approved as one of the key Shandong provincial universities in 1981. It is currently the only university in the field of medical science in Shandong Province, and has been evaluated excellent by the State Ministry of Education.
With a scenic learning environment and superior teaching facilities, SDUTCM stretches over two campuses. The eastern campus is located at the foot of Qianfo (Thousand-budda) Mountain and the western campus in the college town of Changqing District, Jinan City. The two campuses cover a total area of 122 hectares, with a building area of 545,000 square meters. The library has a collection of 1,080,000 paper books and 470,000 electronic books. It has 13 colleges, e.g. College of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Chinese Materia Medica, College of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina, College of Nursing, College of International Education, 3 directly-affiliated hospitals, 9 indirectly-affiliated hospitals, 25 teaching hospitals and over 50 clinical teaching bases.
SDUTCM offers well-rounded educational programs at various academic levels. It has 22 undergraduate programs involving medicine, sciences, humanities, engineering and management. It now has about 400 long-term overseas students and receives over 200 short-term students yearly.
