Jinan promotes tourism in Wakayama
A permanent exhibition booth promoting Jinan, the capital city of Shandong province, was launched in Wakayama, Japan, during the visit in early October of a delegation led by Zhang Shiping, deputy director of Jinan's Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
It was part of the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of sister-city relations between the two cities.
It is Jinan's first overseas exhibition booth that promotes the city's image. It aims to effectively boost its international presence and recognition.
Intangible cultural heritage items with local characteristics as well as brochures, picture albums and posters are displayed at the booth. Citizens of Wakayama can take them for free.
A Wakayama delegation visited Jinan in November and set up a booth to promote its tourism attractions there, making the Japanese city the first of all Jinan's international sister cities to open such a booth.
