Jinan's GDP rises 2.7% in H1

Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, saw its gross domestic product grow 2.7 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2022, hitting 548.13 billion yuan ($81.07 billion), according to local statistics authorities.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary and tertiary industries totaled 20.11 billion yuan, 180.6 billion yuan, and nearly 347.45 billion yuan, respectively, in the first six months, an increase of 4.3 percent, 1.4 percent, and 3.2 percent.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries was 37.01 billion yuan, up 4.3 percent year-on-year during the period and the city's fixed-asset investment rose 5.8 percent year-on-year.

Jinan also saw robust foreign trade growth during the period. The city's total import and export value hit 108.73 billion yuan from January to June, up 28.8 percent year-on-year. Its exports rose 25 percent to 62.89 billion yuan, and its imports increased 34.5 percent to 45.84 billion yuan.

People's quality of life in the city has also improved. In the first six months of this year, the per capita disposable income of all residents in Jinan was 24,485 yuan, up 3.9 percent year-on-year. Specifically, the figure for urban residents was 29,376 yuan, up 2.9 percent, while it was 13,733 yuan for rural residents, a 4.5 percent increase.

The consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.1 percent year-on-year from January to June, maintaining a moderate upward trend.
