World's first Chinese-made C919 jet lands in Jinan

The world's first C919, a Chinese-made narrow-body jet, took off on China Eastern Airlines' flight MU7815 and landed in Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport on Jan 19, marking the jet's debut in Jinan, Shandong province.

Manufactured by Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC), the C919's first plane was delivered to its first customer China Eastern Airlines last December.

Currently, China Eastern Airlines is conducting a 100-hour flight validation campaign, and the jet landed in eight airports in seven cities nationwide, including Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu in Sichuan province, and Xi'an in Shanxi province before arriving at Jinan.

It is planned to carry out the trial flight to Nanchang in Jiangxi province, Hefei in Anhui province, Nanjing in Jiangsu province, Taiyuan in Shanxi province, and Shanghai.

China Eastern Airlines' C919s seat 164 passengers in a two-cabin configuration, with eight in business class and 156 in economy class.

After the C919 completes its 100-hour flight validation, China Eastern Airlines will put the jet into full commercial passenger operation in the spring of 2023.
