Jiaoji Railway Museum in Jinan, Shandong province has been included in the list of national industrial tourism demonstration bases that was released on Oct 12.

The museum was transformed in 2016 from the original Jiaoji Railway Station, which was a German-style building built in 1915. It was later listed among the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013.

The museum showcases a rich collection of artifacts and exhibits, with a total of 759 display items and 1,314 photographs, reflecting the birth and development of the Jiaoji Railway.

The museum is divided into four main thematic exhibition areas and four special exhibition areas. The latter cover the background and construction of the railway, its impact on the socio-economic development of Shandong, as well as more about its turbulent history and the journey towards a new era.

The four special exhibition areas provide insights from various perspectives, including the early revolutionary activities of the Communist Party of China along the Jiaoji Railway, the legendary stories behind the neighboring but unconnected old train stations in Jinan, the work and life experiences left by historical and cultural figures such as Lao She, Cai Yuanpei, Liang Sicheng, and Lin Huiyin along the railway, as well as related equipment and items from more than 100 years of the railway's history.
