Jinan's Zhangqiu district government and Jinan Culture and Tourism Development Group Co signed a cooperation agreement on Aug 11 to build an integrated leisure resort.

The 10.6-billion-yuan ($1.47 billion) resort will feature business formats like modern health care, themed amusement facilities, and leisure vacation options spanning 73.6 hectares. Its facilities will include a performance theatre, a resort hotel, commercial streets, and a medical base.

The resort is expected to attract 5 million visitors every year.

Zhangqiu district boasts abundant tourism resources and will strive to develop the resort project into a new benchmark for culture and tourism in Jinan as well as in Shandong province, said Bian Xiangwei, director of the district.
