Jinan showcases AI-powered low-altitude solutions at WAIC
Jinan showcased its latest advances in the low-altitude economy at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, which opened on July 17 in Shanghai, with two AI-powered platforms designed to improve drone management, public services, and urban governance.
Jointly developed by Jinan Low-altitude Economic Development Group and Synthesis Electronic Technology Co Ltd, the Jinan digital low-altitude flight management and service platform and the low-altitude government flight service platform offer integrated solutions for the city's expanding low-altitude applications.
The digital flight management platform combines real-time flight monitoring, airspace coordination, and operational services. It enables government authorities to oversee low-altitude activities while providing drone and general aviation operators with services including online flight approval, route planning, safety alerts, and flight support.
Meanwhile, the low-altitude government flight service platform integrates the city's government drone resources into a unified system powered by AI algorithms and an air-ground-cloud architecture. It allows information collected from a single flight to serve multiple purposes across urban management, environmental protection, transportation, and emergency response. The platform currently features more than 130 AI models, with recognition accuracy exceeding 95 percent.
Supported by a network of intelligent drone stations, the system has established "5-minute drone response circles", allowing drones to quickly reach incident sites and transmit live data. During a demonstration, a drone arrived at a congested road within five minutes and sent infrared images to a traffic control center.
