Baotu Spring has set a new record for its longest uninterrupted flow since the 1970s, having remained continuously active for 23 years.

The milestone was reached on Sept 6, 23 years after the spring resumed flowing following 548 days of silence. Its resurgence in 2003 ended decades of frequent interruptions and ushered in an unprecedented period of sustained flow.

Today, the three main springs continue to surge upward, sending water skyward and creating ripples across the pool. The spectacle echoes the ancient description of Baotu Spring as having water that "rises high and surges like wheels".

Baotu Spring is more than a natural landmark. It stands at the heart of Jinan's spring culture and has become an enduring symbol of the city's landscape and heritage. Its sustained flow has helped preserve the defining feature of the "City of Springs" and keep its centuries-old natural and cultural heritage alive.
