Jinan airport reports record surge in intl travelers
Driven by China's expanded visa-free policies and a range of local support measures, Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport has seen strong growth in international passenger traffic this year, reflecting the steady recovery of inbound tourism in Jinan.
As of April 30, the airport had handled 70,438 international passengers, an increase of over 105 percent compared to last year. Of these, over 29,000 travelers entered China under visa-free policies, making up 80.7 percent of all inbound foreign passengers. Preferential measures for inbound tour groups have also boosted travel demand, benefiting 63 tour groups with nearly 6,000 passengers in total.
To capitalize on the expanding inbound tourism market, the airport has introduced a one-stop travel service that integrates international flights with sightseeing and accommodation resources. Foreign visitors can enjoy free admission to Mingshui Ancient Town by presenting flight tickets and valid identification, while partnered hotels provide exclusive accommodation discounts for overseas travelers.
The airport continues to enhance services for international passengers by streamlining customs clearance and flight service procedures, upgrading multilingual facilities, and enhancing the overall travel experience. These efforts are reinforcing the airport as a key gateway for international exchanges and regional tourism development.
