Jinan–Binzhou high-speed rail nears completion
Construction of the Jinan–Binzhou high-speed railway has entered its final stage, with major engineering works completed and preparations underway for the scheduled opening by the end of 2026.
The nearly 145.3-kilometer railway, designed for speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, will strengthen Jinan's role as a regional transportation hub. Starting from Jinan East Railway Station, the line will serve six stations in total, terminating at Binzhou Station.
The main span of the Jiyang Yellow River highway-railway bridge, a key part of the project, has been successfully closed.
Another major part of the project is Yaoqiang Airport Station, which is set to become the largest underground high-speed railway station in Shandong province. Located beneath the airport transport hub, the station will provide seamless connections between high-speed rail, metro services, and air travel. Interior decoration is also nearing completion, featuring a stylized lotus design inspired by Jinan's city flower, with 16 petals representing the province's 16 cities.
Once operational, the railway will further improve connectivity between Jinan and Binzhou and support coordinated regional development.
