Jinan celebrates Chinese New Year in style
To celebrate the Year of the Horse, Jinan has introduced over 300 cultural and tourism activities throughout the Spring Festival season, aiming to enhance winter travel offerings and boost cultural consumption.
The program emphasizes traditional Chinese New Year experiences, including lantern displays at Baotu Spring and Mingshui Ancient Town, as well as temple fairs highlighting local intangible cultural heritage and folk performances.
Modern entertainment and family tours are also prominent. Major theme parks such as Jinan Fangte Oriental Heritage and Jinan Sunac Resort will have drone light shows and interactive performances, while mountain areas including Jiuru Mountain and Red Leaves Valley will offer ice waterfall festivals, ski events, and winter leisure activities such as stove-side tea brewing.
Cultural activities remain a key focus. The city's theaters are set to present a festive performance season ranging from Peking Opera to symphonies, and museums and galleries will host a series of exhibitions centered on horse culture and traditional Chinese art.
