High-end software industry flourishes in Jinan
Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, held a press conference on Sept 26 to highlight the city's high-end software industry value chain, one of its 13 signature industrial value chains.
As a renowned Chinese Software City, Jinan's software revenues in 2024 accounted for 4.2 percent of the national total and 40.5 percent of Shandong province, with high-end software contributing 18.61 percent.
The industry value chain includes basic, industrial, and emerging software, each demonstrating strong momentum. In basic software, technological breakthroughs have been made in operating systems, middleware, databases, and information security. Inspur has led in developing cloud operating systems and distributed databases, while middleware products of CVIC Software Engineering Co., Ltd. have replaced imported products in key areas such as finance, taxation, and energy.
Industrial software has also experienced steady progress. Hoteam Software's core technologies stand out, while Shanxin Software Company provides multi-level, full-cycle intelligent manufacturing solutions for industries such as steel and non-ferrous metals, serving clients in more than 20 provinces and regions in China. In 2024, Jinan's industrial software revenues made up 11.9 percent of the nation's total.
Emerging software is developing rapidly, with companies introducing signature products powered by frontier technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and low-code platforms. The intelligent expressway cloud control platform by Shandong Hi-speed Information Group enables real-time monitoring of traffic flow and road conditions, significantly improving expressway efficiency. Meanwhile, the Hussar low-code platform developed by Jinxiandai has established a strong foundation for enterprise digitalization.
