Gangcheng district in Jinan, Shandong province is working to develop advanced manufacturing industry and promote the upgrading of its traditional industries.

The district’s major industries are steel production and steel deep processing, and with the support of Shandong Iron and Steel Group, the number of high-quality steel production, processing, and research and development enterprises continues to increase.

The district has cultivated a series of major industries, including intelligent garage production, metallurgical materials production, and mahogany furniture research, development, and production.

Gangcheng is also planning to build five hubs for the development of advanced steel processing, the eco-friendly construction industry, new materials, agriculture, and smart supporting facilities.

Officials have said that the district will make efforts to develop the advanced steel industry into a 100-billion-yuan ($14.3 billion) industry within the next two or three years and accelerate intelligent manufacturing industry.
