The Jinan Metro Line 2 was opened to the public on March 26. The 36.4-kilometer long metro line, which passes through 19 stations in the districts of Huaiyin, Tianqiao, Licheng and Lixia, has a designed speed of 100 km/h. A trip from one end of the line to the other will take about 50 minutes.
The line starts at Wangfuzhuang Station in the west and ends at Pengjiazhuang Station in the east. Commuters can transfer to Line 1 at Wangfuzhuang Station and Line 3 at Bajianpu Station. The line was built to improve traffic moving from the eastern to western part of the city.
The Bajianpu Station is the first intelligent metro station in Jinan and integrates high-end technologies such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, and big data.
