Licheng, one of the 10 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Jinan, Shandong province, recently released its major tasks for 2020 in seeking high-quality development.

According to Lyu Tao, Party secretary of Licheng district, the local government will deepen cooperation with universities and research institutes such as Shandong University to create a favorable innovation and entrepreneurship environment for graduates.

To bolster the development of industrial clusters, Licheng district will strive to attract a group of powerful enterprises and multinational companies and focus on developing several advanced manufacturing industries focusing on biopharmaceuticals, aerospace information, and logistics trade as well as cultural tourism industries.

Among the city's 150 key projects, construction has begun on 116, with 21.1 billion yuan ($2.96 billion) in investment being put to use thus far. Construction on the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Inspur Intelligent Computing Industrial Park and Greenland Global Trading Port has been accelerating.

Additionally, Licheng district will make full use of its historical and cultural resources, including notable historical figures and sites, to build cultural blocks and create cultural tourism routes.

The district plans to invest 10 billion yuan in 117 livelihood projects renovating old areas and designing landscapes for streets and river areas in an effort to build a livable district with a high-quality environment for residents.
