City Introduction
Kfar Saba is the central city of the H'Sharon region of Israel. It covers 14 square kilometers and has a population of 90,000. The city was founded in 1903 with a history of 2,00 years. Located 15 kilometers from the city of Tel-Aviv and the Mediterranean Sea, Kfar Saba has a convenient transport network and enjoys a strong economy, especially in hi-tech industries. TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, is located in the city. The Meir Medical Center serves around 60,000 of the area's inhabitants.
Kfar Saba and Jinan signed a memorandum of friendly cooperation on May 14, 2007.
Kfar Saba and Jinan
In November 2005, the vice-mayor of Kfar Saba paid a five-day visit to Jinan to discuss cooperation in the economic activity and trade, high and new technology, and education. These talks proved to be very fruitful.
In July 2006, Kfar Saba sent delegates to the first international children's day in our city, effectively promoting communication between the two cities. In October 2006, Jinan Ninth School and Kfar Saba set up relationship through telecommunications and exchange of missions to enhance understanding and jointly promote the development of a friendly schools project.
In May 2007, a Jinan city government delegation paid a return visit to Kfar Saba to study its economic and cultural development, and the delegates signed a memorandum for friendly talks, which was supported by the Chinese embassy in Israel. The memorandum said that all parties hoped to continue and deepen friendly relations and cooperation, especially in high-tech fields.
In February 2008, Mr Rong, the Israel-based partner of Faxiang Real Estate Co Ltd of Jinan visited our city. Officials from Jinan's foreign affairs office discussed with him the cities' cooperation to strengthen economic and trade communications.
In 2008, under the city's foreign affairs office, two Israeli companies began negotiations on multiple investments to build large shopping center in high-tech zones in Jinan. In March 2009, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in the context of the global financial crisis to pursue the projects.
In March 2009, the vice-mayor of Jinan, Zhang Zongxiang, led a delegation to Israel to sign the agreement for friendly relations between Jinan and Kfar Saba. The signing was attended by a Jinan counselor from the Chinese embassy in Israel, the municipal government, and more than 40 people from all walks of life in the two cities. The delegation also examined Kfar Saba's high-tech zone and the medical center, and held discussions with its council and the Modu telephone company. The company intends to cooperate with giant foreign China information technology co., LTD. in Shandong to develop new videophone products and to develop deeper cooperation.
