Chinese garden opens in Jinan's sister city Rennes
A Chinese garden, jointly established by Jinan and its sister city Rennes, France, was officially opened on May 20, as this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France.
Located in the Maurepas Park, the Chinese garden covers an area of approximately 5,000 square meters.
The garden features pavilions, rockeries, paifang, or memorial archway gates, and arched bridges, embodying the style of traditional Chinese gardens and the unique characteristics of Jinan.
To date, Jinan has cooperated with its sister cities to build 10 international sister-city gardens within the city, including ones with Suwon in South Korea, Siem Reap in Cambodia, and Vantaa in Finland. In addition, Jinan has built two Jinan-style Chinese gardens in Marmaris, Turkiye, and Rennes, France.
