The first Jinan Sports Games opened on Oct 11 at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center, marking a milestone in the city's sports development.

As the city's largest and highest-level multi-sport event, it included 44 disciplines and awarded over 1,400 medals, attracting around 40,000 participants and sparking widespread enthusiasm for sports.

Originating in 1996 as the Jinan Youth Sports Games, the event was elevated in 2024 to the Jinan Sports Games and is now held every four years.

The event featured three groups: youth, college students in Jinan, and workers. A total of 50 labor unions, youth from 15 districts, counties, and functional zones, and 40 universities in Jinan registered to participate.

The event demonstrated athletes' pursuit of excellence and spirit of cooperation, highlighting the energy of the events and the city's drive for progress.
