Construction on Jinan Metro Line 4 began on March 6. The line has a total length of 40.2 kilometers and runs from west to east in Jinan.

The line has 33 stations throughout the Jinan Innovation Zone, Licheng district, Huaiyin district, Shizhong district, and Lixia district. It starts from Xiaogaozhuang Station in the west and ends at Pengjiazhuang Station in the east. Of the stations, 26 are located along Jingshi Road, which will greatly relieve traffic congestion on the road.
