Located in northern part of Jinan, Tianqiao district stretched across the Yellow River. Covering an area of 258.97 square kilometers, it governs 14 sub-districts, 148 communities and 48 administrative villages.

By the end of 2019, the district achieved a regional GDP of 54.12 billion yuan ($7.82 billion), a year-on-year growth of 7.1 percent. The added values of its primary, secondary and tertiary sectors were 127 million yuan, 18.73 billion yuan and 35.26 billion yuan, respectively, year-on-year increases of 0.9 percent, 11.7 percent and 4.9 percent. The ratio of the three sectors was 0.2:34.6:65.2. Its general public budget revenue was 4.41 billion yuan, up 0.1 percent year-on-year.
