Jinan fiscal revenue rises by 6.5% in 2020

The general public budget revenue of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province reached 90.61 billion yuan ($14.03 billion) in 2020, with a comparable increase of 6.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the government expenditure last year also increased to 128.88 billion yuan and spending on key projects related to people's livelihood and social service accounted for 79.5 percent of total.

Accordingly, Jinan government has provided financial subsidies to support the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in 2020 and set up investment funds totaling 78.9 billion yuan.

To cope with COVID-19, local authorities have bolstered enterprises by alleviating their financial burden, ramping up support for technological innovation, and optimizing government services.

Local government has made great efforts in helping poverty alleviation. Last year, 1,006 poverty-stricken villages in the city were lifted out of poverty. A total of 26.99 billion yuan was spent on environmental protection efforts and 23 projects related to people's livelihood were completed.
