Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, is aiming to achieve new digital economy growth, according to its roadmap for the next five years.
The city will focus on developing advanced manufacturing, emerging industries and high-end industries. More efforts will also be made to promote intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence.
By 2025, the total income of the digital economy in Jinan is expected to exceed 1 trillion yuan ($154.4 billion), according to a digital economy development plan released by the city's industry and information technology bureau on June 29.
The digital economy is becoming a new driving force in promoting economic growth and the upgrading of traditional industries, local officials said.
The city is aiming to make breakthroughs in core and applicable technologies, fostering strong enterprises in the digital economy and supporting industrial innovation.
It will further boost innovation in the application of AI, big data, blockchain and the internet of things, and advance the integration of the digital economy and the real economy.
