Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, recently visited Licheng district, Jinan, Shandong province to learn about the development of the strawberry industry in the area.

Sun Licheng, Party secretary of Jinan, accompanied Ma during the visit.

The strawberry industry in Licheng district began developing in the early 1990s and the district has now become one of the main strawberry-growing areas in China.

Presently, the district's greenhouse strawberry planting area has reached 25,000 mu (6.67 square kilometers) with a total output of 66,000 tons and a total output value of 1.25 billion yuan ($186 million).
