The Yellow River Ecological Industry Development Center was launched in Pingyin county, Jinan, Shandong province in an effort to promote ecological development alongside the Yellow River. It is the first of its kind for a county-level area in Shandong province.

Pingyin county has made great efforts in promoting ecological protection and high-quality development in recent years.

The county invested 350 million yuan ($54.93 million) to construct an irrigation project by making use of water from the Yellow River. The construction of a 40-kilometer emergency road along the Yellow River has been started.

To promote the development of the Shandong provincial economic circle, Pingyin has signed an agreement with Dong'e county in Liaocheng to cooperate in the fields of transportation facilities, cultural tourism, healthcare, and ecological construction.

The rose planting industry in the county is enjoying significant development. The county currently has a rose plantation area measuring more than 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares).

The county has made tourism routes for visitors to enjoy the city's rose flowers, which integrate rose culture, rose flowers fields, a rose culture street, a rose processing workshop, as well as rose delicacies that have proven to be popular with tourists. The county received 300,000 visitors during this year's May Day holiday.
