Jinan makes waves in innovative project construction
Jinan, capital of Shandong province is now making waves in promoting the construction of high-quality and innovative projects.
In 2024, Jinan planned to construct 2,000 major green, low-carbon, and high-quality development projects with a total investment of 2.66 trillion yuan ($364.38 billion). By the end of September, the city has achieved a completion rate of 90.5 percent of its plan.
These projects, part of the city's efforts to promote the new quality productive forces, will significantly drive the city's high-quality development.
The solar module project, funded by Shanghai-based renewable energy company AIKO, began construction early this year. With a total investment of 36 billion yuan, the project is expected to significantly advance the city's new energy equipment industry. The first solar module is scheduled to roll off the production line by the end of the year.
The Museum of Global Beauty Technology, supported by Shandong Freda Biotechnology Co, opened in Jinan this August and has attracted much attention as the first of its kind in China.
The museum combines beauty culture, science education, technological experiences, and academic exchanges, aspiring to become a new landmark for beauty culture and innovation.
Jinan's beauty economy is thriving. The city produces 70 percent of China's hyaluronic acid raw materials, making it the country's largest production base for HA.
The Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation, the city's new economic hub has accelerated development, attracting high-tech companies such as Jinan Green Dynamic Technology, advancing hydrogen fuel cell applications in public transit, and promoting green urban initiatives.
The expanding innovation environment has made Jinan a magnet for global talent, with 160,000 young professionals choosing the city in 2023, further strengthening Jinan's position as one of China's top cities for talent attraction.
