Jinan advances photovoltaic use
In Jinan, photovoltaic power generation is being used more and more, not only meeting energy demands but also contributing significantly to ecological improvement.
A quality educational base for minors in Shizhong district boasts Shandong's first distributed photovoltaic zero-carbon park, with individual units exceeding six megawatts. The glass rooftops of the existing buildings have been fitted with photovoltaic panels, providing solar power while also improving insulation and waterproofing.

"Currently, the entire base generates over 10 million kilowatt-hours annually, equivalent to saving 1,200 tons of standard coal," said Yang Liu, vice manager of Shengneng Taiwei Energy Co Ltd.
In addition to fulfilling daily lighting needs, the electricity generated by photovoltaic panels is integrated with the building's infrastructure for things like car charging stations.
In the smart zero-carbon photovoltaic zone at Shandong University National Science Park, the open areas in the plaza are put to use. The project includes photovoltaic pavement areas, sheltered benches, and carports, creating diverse integrated scenarios.

Yang said that photovoltaic power generation is widely implemented in schools, hospitals, and industrial parks across Jinan. If fully utilized, these photovoltaic systems could reduce the city's reliance on coal by at least one-third, offering residents a greener and more convenient living environment.
