Galina Stoyanova, mayor of Kazanlak city, sent a congratulation letter to Jinan in celebration of the 10th Jinan International Spring Water Festival during the event, which concluded on Sept 30.

The annual international spring water festival is an important event in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province. Stoyanova expressed in her letter that Jinan has the right to be called the water capital of China thanks to its 72 springs, which empower Daming Lake.

This year's event featured a wide range of activities designed to promote the city's spring water culture.

Kazanlak city in Bulgaria established sister city ties with Jinan in 2013. Over the years, the two sides have strengthened exchanges in the rose industry, especially in essential oil refining and production of related products.

Stoyanova also expressed hope that in the future "we will keep fair friendship in the name of kind cooperation and useful contacts between our twin towns".
