Yu Haitian, born in September 1969, is of Han ethnicity and a member of the Communist Party of China. He has a doctor's degree in engineering.

Yu is currently the deputy secretary of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee, mayor of Jinan, and secretary of the leading Party members group of the Jinan Municipal People's Government.

He oversees comprehensive municipal government affairs and is responsible for financial and auditing matters. He also supervises the Jinan Municipal Finance Bureau and the Jinan Municipal Auditing Bureau.
