Jinan unveils cultural tourism initiative to revitalize treasures
The "Explore Jinan through national treasures" cultural tourism promotion project was launched at the Hanmeilin Art Museum on Dec 1. The initiative seeks to breathe new life into the city's cultural relics, while further enhancing its appeal as a cultural tourism destination.
The event comprises four key activities designed to make these historical treasures more accessible and engaging. Renowned experts, including archaeologists, museum curators, and scholars, will highlight stories about Jinan's national treasures, while documentaries and short films shine a spotlight on these relics, with the public encouraged to share their own footage.
Additionally, cultural creative products inspired by Jinan's iconic relics will be developed, alongside the creation of new tourist routes to enrich the visitor experience.
With over 4,000 years of history, Jinan is rich in cultural heritage, home to notable sites such as the Chengziya Site, the Great Wall of the Ancient Qi State, and the Xiaotang Mountain Guo Family Ancestral Hall.
The city also boasts 2,274 immovable cultural relics and 942 cultural heritage sites at various levels. In addition, 3,804 cultural relics are preserved in local museums, including 116 first-grade relics.
