Jinan accelerates robotics industry with 50b yuan fund
The robotics industry in Jinan has seen rapid development in recent years, with the city's core robotics sector now valued at nearly 15 billion yuan ($ 2.1 billion). To further drive growth, Jinan plans to establish a 5-billion-yuan robotics industry development fund.
Jinan now hosts over 90 robotics companies, supported by three national industrial design centers, one national enterprise technology center, and 10 provincial-level centers. Leading companies like State Grid Intelligent Technology Co, BlueSword, and RobotPhoenix have achieved major breakthroughs in the metallurgy, electric power, automotive, and construction sectors.
Their innovations include power line inspection robots, welding robots, and warehouse shuttle robots, which are among Jinan's key exports, reaching over 100 countries and regions. State Grid Intelligent, for example, developed China's first substation inspection robot, de-icing robot, and autonomous underwater detection robot and operates the nation's only key laboratory for electric power robotics.
