Jiao Weixing was born in February 1971. He is of Han ethnicity and a member of the Communist Party of China. He completed postgraduate education in Party School of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee.

Jiao is currently the vice-mayor of Jinan and a member of the leading Party members group of the Jinan Municipal People's Government. He is also the Party secretary of Laiwu district and secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Laiwu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

He is responsible for work related to Laiwu district in Jinan.
