Pingyin county in Jinan, Shandong province, unveiled a variety of summer cultural tourism programs at a news conference on July 16.

The programs, featuring local cultural tourism offerings, are aimed at boosting summer consumption and offering diverse, high-quality experiences for visitors.

Highlights include countryside tours, night-time festivals, outdoor camping, and family-friendly cultural experiences.

Visitors can explore rose gardens, springs, and ejiao heritage sites, while enjoying interactive performances, themed markets, and seasonal cuisine.

Pingyin county is renowned for its roses, ejiao (a traditional Chinese medicine made from boiled donkey hide), and natural springs. Drawing on these resources, the county has developed six themed travel routes tailored to different types of visitors.

In Rose town, four tourism routes and immersive experiences are offered, along with a range of rose-themed cultural products.

Donge town offers wellness experiences, educational tours, and ejiao-based cuisines inviting visitors to explore the origins of its traditional remedy. Meanwhile, Hongfanchi town, home to 36 springs, features spring-themed activities and tranquil retreats amid southern-style architecture.

Pingyin also introduced its tourism brand "Refreshing Pingyin", supported by creative products such as plush toys, rose-themed souvenirs, and immersive travel routes.

By integrating culture with tourism, agriculture, commerce, and sports, Pingyin is fostering a diversified and sustainable tourism ecosystem.
