Jinan opens cargo air route linking Luxembourg, Nottingham
A B777F freighter landed at Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport on Sept 6, marking the launch of the Luxembourg-Jinan-Nottingham freight route. This is the airport's third international service with fifth freedom rights, further strengthening Jinan' s air logistics links with Europe.
The route is operated by Atlas Air, with two weekly flights and a maximum cargo capacity of 100 metric tons. Imports from Luxembourg include salmon and auto parts, while outbound flights to Nottingham carry e-commerce parcels.
Since August, the airport has also launched all-cargo routes to cities like Tokyo and Bangkok, expanding its international cargo network.
The new route has strengthened Jinan airport's role as a hub connecting China with Eurasia, enabling it to provide flexible, efficient and diversified global supply chain solutions for cross-border trade enterprises in Shandong and East China.
Looking ahead, the airport plans to expand freight routes across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, building an international air network that links major cargo hubs across the world, enhancing cargo aggregation and distribution capacity, and helping Chinese products reach global markets.
